The Journey
For my university work I am to develop and create a 3D human Figure that is to, is or has embarked upon a journey. This blog will depict my journey on my first 3D character model from initial ideas that will evolve to concept art that will then be used as reference for my character model. Below will be my characters information such as characteristics, personality and such that will be decide his final look when drawing.
Character
My character is an 34 year old ex space fighter pilot for the USF turned mercenary by the name of Virgil Craine. His personality makes him a fairly straight forward from first appearance. Being born into the services although its all he’s ever come to have known he highly believes in loyalty and honour amongst people and friends but after the event that caused him to be betrayed, left for dead by the USF and the death of his crew and friends has made him harden and become colder. He choses to engage in as little contact with other people knowing that they could easily die within a moments notice rendering him to be isolated the majority of the time and within his new line of work he is deadly and efficient as ever without remorse.
Virgil craine’s backstory
Virgil Craine a ex space fighter pilot for the USF turned mercenary after he is betrayed by the United Space Federation when he was sent on a mission with his friends and crew to transport an ambassador of the opposition that could potential stop a war thats been waging through out the past decade. Whilst en route the cargo bay of his small ship implodes ripping apart the hull and either killing or suffocating the crew and passengers and only managed to survive himself because of the pressurised cockpit. The ships distress signal was automatically activated several hours after the incident when the ships computers had managed to reboot and had alerted another ship that was passing by and came to his aid. From the wreckage of his ship he found only fragments and a few personal belongings of his crew as well as evidence of a hull breach within the cargo bay. After several years later having been left for dead by the USF he became a mercenary for hire as being a ex space fighter pilot he was comfortable and capable of the tasks handed to him. Upon a task that he had been set on he discovers the truth of the ships implosion and the death of his crew and learns that the USF had loaded a bomb into the ships cargo bay and he was used as a means of assassinating a HVT that he was transporting that day. Upon learning of this he begins his search for the man responsible for the deaths of his loyal crew and closest friends as well as a stop to possible future corruption.
